The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:36 a.m. this day, in the Asia Pacific Hall, Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, Vancouver, British Columbia, the Chair, Tom Wappel, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Raynald Blais, John Cummins, Loyola Hearn, Randy Kamp, Shawn Murphy, Jean-Yves Roy and Tom Wappel.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: François Côté, Analyst.

Department of Fisheries and Oceans: David Patterson, Habitat Research Biologist , Science, Pacific Region; Don Radford, Acting Regional Director , Fisheries Management, Pacific Region; Laura Richards, Regional Director, Science Branch; Paul Ryall, Lead, Salmon Team; Neil Schubert, Area Chief, Stock Assessment; Paul Sprout, Associate Regional Director General; Timber Whitehouse, Program Head Sockeye , Sockeye Salmon Stock Assessment, Kamloops, B.C. Interior Area and Science Branch; Jim Wild, Area Director.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of the 2004 Fraser River sockeye salmon harvest.
 

The witnesses on Panel 12 - Scientific, Anthony P. Farrell, Blair Holtby and Bob Gould, made statements and answered questions.
