The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 1:51 p.m. this day, in the Trinity I-II-III, Marriott Hotel Toronto Eaton Centre, Toronto, Ontario, the Chair, Bernard Patry, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Francine Lalonde, Alexa McDonough, Bernard Patry and Beth Phinney.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Lee, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Horizons of Friendship: Henry Becker, Member, Board of Directors; Susan Murdock, Program Coordinator. KAIROS (Canadian Ecumenical Justice Initiatives): Mary Corkery, Executive Director; John R. Dillon, Program Coordinator, Global Economic Justice. Ontario Council for International Cooperation: Gwen Schauerte, President; William Sparks, Vice-president; Kimberly Gibbons, Coordinator. Project Ploughshares: John Siebert, Executive Director; Ken Epps, Senior Program Associate. Canadian Crossroads International : Karen Takacs, Executive Director; Christine Campbell, National Director, External Relations.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on June 7, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of the International Policy Statement.
 

Mary Corkery, John Dillon, John Siebert and Ken Epps made statements and answered questions.

 

At 2:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:50 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Henry Becker made statements and, with Susan Murdock, answered questions.

 

At 3:17 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:48 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 5:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
