The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in a televised session at 9:11 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D Centre Block, the Chair, Bernard Patry, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Stockwell Day, Helena Guergis, Francine Lalonde, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Alexa McDonough, Hon. Dan McTeague, Ted Menzies, Pierre A. Paquette, Bernard Patry, Beth Phinney and Kevin Sorenson.

 

Acting Members present: Navdeep Bains for Hon. Maurizio Bevilacqua.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Lee, Analyst; Marcus Pistor, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Association québécoise des organismes de coopération internationale: Maria-Luisa Monreal, Director General. Oxfam Canada: Mark Fried, Communications and Advocacy Coordinator. Oxfam-Quebec: Mohammed Chikhaoui, Director, Planning and Evaluation. As an Individual: Yossi Olmert.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on October 20, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of the International Policy Review.
 

Maria-Luisa Monreal, Mark Fried and Mohammed Chikhaoui made statements and answered questions.

 

At 10:30 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:32 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Yossi Olmert made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 10:58 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:59 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded in camera, to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

Navdeep Bains presented the Second Report from the Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Development.

 

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the Committee postpone further consideration of the Subcommittee's Second Report until the next meeting.

 

At 11:06 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
