The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in a televised session at 9:06 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D Centre Block, the Chair, Bernard Patry, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Francine Lalonde, Hon. Lawrence MacAulay, Hon. Dan McTeague, Ted Menzies, Pierre A. Paquette, Bernard Patry, Beth Phinney, Kevin Sorenson and Belinda Stronach.

 

Acting Members present: Diane Bourgeois for Pierre A. Paquette, Bev Desjarlais for Alexa McDonough, Mark Eyking for Maurizio Bevilacqua and Peter Julian for Alexa McDonough.

 

Associate Members present: Hon. Paddy Torsney.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Gerald Schmitz, Principal; James Lee, Analyst; Marcus Pistor, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Aileen Carroll, Minister of International Cooperation; Hon. Jim Peterson, Minister of International Trade.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2005-2006: Votes 1, 5, 10 and 15 under International Trade referred to the Committee on Friday, February 25, 2005.
 

Aileen Carroll made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 9:57 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:04 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2005-2006: Votes 15, 20, L25, L30 and L35 under Canadian International Development Agency referred to the Committee on Friday, February 25, 2005.
 

Jim Peterson made a statement and answered questions.

 

On motion of Mark Eyking, it was agreed, — That the Main Estimates under International Trade and the Canadian International Development Agency be adopted.

 

At 10:55 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
