The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C Centre Block, the Acting Chair, David Tilson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Navdeep Bains, Marc Boulianne, Ed Broadbent, Ken Epp, Russ Hiebert, Marlene Jennings, Mario Laframboise, Derek Lee, Russ Powers and David Tilson.

 

Acting Members present: Gary Carr for Paul Zed.

 

Associate Members present: Tom Lukiwski and Jeff Watson.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Analyst; Nancy Holmes, Analyst; Lydia Scratch, Analyst. House of Commons: Jean-Philippe Brochu, Committee Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Ethics Commissioner: Bernard Shapiro, Ethics Commissioner; Lyne Robinson-Dalpé, Director, Corporate Services.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2005-2006 referred to the Committee on Friday, February 25, 2005.

The Chair called Vote 15 (Office of the Ethics Commissioner) under PARLIAMENT.

 

Bernard Shapiro made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

 

At 10:29 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:32 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

ORDERED, — That the draft report be adopted and that the Chair present the report to the House.

 

At 10:44 a.m., the Committee adjourned until 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2005.
