The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 9:06 a.m. this day, in the Room Fontainebleau-Rambouillet, Hotel Palace Royal, Quebec, Quebec, the Chair, Andrew Telegdi, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Roger Clavet, Meili Faille and Andrew Telegdi.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Benjamin Dolin, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Centre International des Femmes de Québec: Bouchra Kaache, Director. Service d'accueil aux réfugiés de Québec: Andrée Juneau, Coordinator. As an Individual: Jocelyne Michaud. Centre Culturel Islamique du Québec: Nadia El Ghandouri, Lawyer, Héroux & Boivin; Nader Trigui, Lawyer. As Individuals: Paule Bérubé; Stefan Szilva. Human Rights Action Committee: Inderjeet Singh.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Family Reunification Issues.
 

Panel I. Family Reunification Issues

 

Bouchra Kaache, Andrée Juneau and Jocelyne Michaud made statements and answered questions.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Recognition of the International Experience and Credentials of Immigrants.
 

Panel II. Foreign Credentials

 

Nadia El Ghandouri, Nader Trigui and Paule Bérubé made statements and, answered questions.
