The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 9:02 a.m. this day, in Room Elfin Pekeha, Delta Prince Edward Hotel, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, the Chair, Andrew Telegdi, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Helena Guergis, Rahim Jaffer, Bill Siksay, Andrew Telegdi and Lui Temelkovski.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Benjamin Dolin, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: CUPE - PEI: Leo Cheverie. Prince Edward Island Government: Elaine Noonan, Executive Director, Department of Development and Technology, Population Secretariat; Debbie Pineau, Coordinator, Post-Secondary Education and Continuing Education, Department of Education. Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce: Douglas Coles, Chair, Policy Committee; Kathy Hambly, Executive Director. As an Individual: Annet Tol-Riedijk.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Recognition of the International Experience and Credentials of Immigrants.
 

Panel I.

Leo Chevevie made a statment and answered questions.
