The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 3:50 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Reg Alcock, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Reg Alcock, Carolyn Bennett, Ken Epp, Raymonde Folco and Tony Valeri.

Acting Members present: John Bryden for Paul Szabo; Karen Redman for Roy Cullen; Lawrence Macaulay for Tony Tirabassi; Mark Eyking for Steve Mahoney.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jack Stilborn, Analyst.

Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), consideration of the Main Estimates 2003-2004. Votes 1,2,5,10 and 20, and Report on Plans and Priorities under TREASURY BOARD. Votes 1,5,10, 15 and 35, and Report on Plans and Priorities under PRIVY COUNCIL. Votes 40 and 45, and Report on Plans and Priorities under JUSTICE. Vote 110, and Report on Plans and Priorities under CANADIAN HERITAGE. Votes 1,5,10, 15 and 20, and Report on Plans and Priorities under PUBLIC WORKS AND GOVERNMENT SERVICES. Vote 1, and Report on Plans and Priorities under GOVERNOR GENERAL. Vote 1, and Report on Plans and Priorities under PARLIAMENT.

John Bryden moved, -- That Vote 45 under Justice (Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada Program) in the amount of $9,817,000 less the amount of $2,454,250 voted in the Interim Supply be reduced by $1000.00 to $9,816,000.

After debate, the question was put on the motion, it was agreed to, on division.

ORDERED -- That the Chair report Votes 1,2,5,10 and 20 under TREASURY BOARD; Votes 1,5,10, 15 and 35 under PRIVY COUNCIL; Vote 40 under JUSTICE; Vote 110 under CANADIAN HERITAGE; Votes 1,5,10, 15 and 20 under PUBLIC WORKS AND GOVERNMENT SERVICES; Vote 1 under GOVERNOR GENERAL; Vote 1 under PARLIAMENT.and Vote 45 under Justice as reduced, less the amounts granted in Interim Supply to the House.

At 4:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
