The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met in a televised session at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, David Pratt, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Leon Benoit, Robert Bertrand, Cheryl Gallant, Joe McGuire, John O'Reilly, Janko Perić, David Pratt, David Price, Carmen Provenzano, Peter Stoffer, Elsie Wayne, Bob Wood.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.
Witness: From the Department of National Defence: Vice-Admiral Ron Buck, Chief of Maritime Staff.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), discussion on the State of Readiness of the Canadian Forces and on Budgetary Issues.
At 3:55 p.m., David Price took the Chair.
At 4:30 p.m., David Pratt took the Chair.
Vice-Admiral Buck made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 5:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
