Meeting No. 22

Thursday, April 10, 2003

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 9:02 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Vice-Chair, Elsie Wayne, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Leon Benoit, Bill Blaikie, Ivan Grose, Joe McGuire, David Pratt, Elsie Wayne.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Research Officer; Barry Hamiton, Consultant.

Witness: From the University of Calgary: Prof. David Bercuson, Professor, Director of the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on Canada-United States Defence Cooperation and on other related issues.

David Bercuson made a statement and answered questions.

At 10:15 a.m., David Pratt took the Chair.

At 10:55 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
