Tuesday, March 18, 2003
The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera at 11:09 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Tom Wappel, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Andy Burton, R. John Efford, Georges Farrah, Loyola Hearn, Dominic LeBlanc, Bill Matthews, Carmen Provenzano, Jean-Yves Roy, Peter Stoffer, Tom Wappel, Bob Wood.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: François Côté and Alan Nixon, research officers.
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of its future business.
It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans to appear on the evening of April 2 or April 9 in order to review the Main Estimates of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
It was agreed, — That the Committee invite senior officials from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans to appear on April 1st and April 3 in order to review the Main Estimates of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on aquaculture in Canada (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, November 7, 2002, Meeting No. 2).
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
At 12:16 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
