DEADLINE - NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD FOR CANADA

Ottawa, October 10, 2003 - The House of Commons Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration announced on Friday, October 10, 2003, that it is continuing its study on “A National Identity Card for Canada?”

The Committee’s 6th Report (Interim) was tabled in the House of Commons on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 (www.parl.gc.ca/CIMM-e). Included in the Report are questions the Committee would like Canadians to address.

To assist the Committee in its study, individuals and groups interested in presenting briefs and/or appearing before the Committee are requested to forward their submissions to the Clerk of the Committee by no later than Friday, November 7, 2003.

If possible, all submissions should have an executive summary and should be provided in electronic form and forwarded to the following address: cimm@parl.gc.ca
