Thursday, March 1st, 2001
The Standing Committee on Transport and Government Operations met at 11:02 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Ovid Jackson, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Jay Hill, Ovid Jackson, Mario Laframboise, Dominic LeBlanc, Marcel Proulx, Brent St. Denis.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Researcher. From Committees and Parliamentary Associations Directorate: Jacques Lahaie, Clerk.
Witnesses: From the Department of Transport: William J.S. Elliott, Assistant Deputy Minister, Safety and Security Group; Louis Ranger, Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy; Ronald Sully, Assistant Deputy Minister, Programs and Divestiture.
In accordance with Standing Order 108(2), officials of the Department of Transport conducted a briefing session for the Committee members. Each witness made a presentation and answered questions.
At 12:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
