The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, David Pratt, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Leon Benoit, Cheryl Gallant, John O'Reilly, Janko Perić, David Pratt, David Price, Elsie Wayne, Bob Wood.

Acting Members present: Réal Ménard for Louis Plamondon; Yvon Godin for Peter Stoffer.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner; Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Department of National Defence: Richard Burton, Chief of staff, Material; Yvon De Blois, Project Manager, Supply Chain Project. From the Union of National Defence Employees: John MacLennan, National President; Peter Cormier, Executive Vice-President.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee convened for a briefing session on the Supply Chain Project.

Mr. Burton made an opening statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.
