The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in a televised session at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Sarmite Bulte, Rodger Cuzner, Christiane Gagnon, Roger Gallaway, John Harvard, Betty Hinton, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln and Tony Tirabassi.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Cofman, intern; Joseph Jackson, Terrence Thomas, Research Officers; Consultant: David Black.
Witnesses: From Bell Express Vu: David McLennan, President; Chris Frank, Vice-President, Programming and Regulatory Affaires; Ian Gavaghan, Vice-President, General Counsel. From Telesat Canada: Paul D. Bush, Vice-President, Corporate Development; Bob Power, Director, Regulatory Matters. From the Canadian Media Guild: Lise Lareau, President. From the Newspaper Guild of Canada: Arnold Amber, Director.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on the State of the Canadian Broadcasting System. (See Minutes of Proceeding, dated Thursday, November 8, 2001, Meeting No. 26).
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 12:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
