MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 25

Tuesday, November 6, 2001

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Sarmite Bulte, Rodger Cuzner, John Harvard, Betty Hinton, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Grant McNally, Dennis Mills and Tony Tirabassi.

Acting Members present:  Murray Calder for Claude Duplain and Shawn Murphy for Roger Gallaway.

In attendance:  From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament:  Terry Thomas, Joe Jackson, Research Officers, Alan Cofman, Intern, David Black, Consultant.

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a discussion of future business.

It was agreed, - That, in relation to its study on the State of the Canadian Broadcasting System, the Committee seek permission from the House to travel to Toronto and Montreal from February 5 to 7, 2002 and to Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton and Vancouver from February 24 to March 1, 2002, and that the necessary staff accompany the Committee.

At 11:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
