The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:09 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Andy Burton, John Cummins, Rodger Cuzner, Wayne Easter, Loyola Hearn, Dominic LeBlanc, James Lunney, Lawrence O'Brien, Jean-Yves Roy, Paul Steckle, Peter Stoffer.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Council of Professional Fish Harvesters: Earle McCurdy, President; John Sutcliffe, Vice-President; Daniel P. Bernier, Executive Director; Marc Allain, Policy and Communications Advisor.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), study on the licensing and Atlantic fisheries fleet separation policies.
Earle McCurdy and John Sutcliffe made statements, and with the witnesses, answered questions.
It was agreed, - That the Chair forward as drafted the letter concerning the Tofino wharf to the Minister of Transport
At 11:01 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
