The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in a televised session at 12:20 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: David L. Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Murray Calder, Mark Eyking, Marcel Gagnon, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Dick Proctor, Bob Speller, Paul Steckle, Suzanne Tremblay and Rose-Marie Ur.
Acting Members present: Wayne Easter for Claude Duplain; Joe McGuire for Rick Laliberté and Carol Skelton for Garry Breitkreuz.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Jean-Denis Fréchette, Researcher Officers.
Appearing: From Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada: The Hon. Lyle Vanclief, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
Witnesses: From the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food: Samy Watson, Deputy Minister; Diane Vincent, Associate Deputy Minister.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Briefing Session on the Agricultural Policy Framework.
On motion of Bob Speller,- It was agreed,-That the meeting of the Committee be televised.
Lyle Vanclief made an opening statement and, with other witnesses answered questions.
At 12:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
