The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in a televised session at 9:09 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, Murray Calder, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: David Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Garry Breitkreuz, Murray Calder, Claude Duplain, Mark Eyking, Marcel Gagnon, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Larry McCormick, Dick Proctor, Bob Speller, Rose-Marie Ur.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Jean-Denis Fréchette, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Food Inspection Agency: Dr. André Gravel, Executive Vice-President; Trudy Werry, Director, Office of Emergency Management.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Briefing Session on safety measures to prevent terrorist attack on the agricultural and agri-food sector.
Dr. André Gravel made a presentation and, with Trudy Werry, answered questions.
At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
