The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in a televised session at 4:10 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Rick Borotsik, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Larry McCormick, Dick Proctor, Suzanne Tremblay.
Acting Members present: Brian Pallister for David L. Anderson, Carol Skelton for Garry Breitkreuz, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold for Marcel Gagnon.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Jean-Denis Fréchette, Research Officers.
Appearing: From the House of Commons: The Hon. Andy Mitchell, Secretary of State (Rural Development).
Witness: From the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada: Diane Vincent, Associate Deputy Minister.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Consideration of the Plans and Priorities.
The Hon. Andy Mitchell made a presentation and answered questions.
