The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 9:12 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, Bob Speller, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: David L. Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Murray Calder, Claude Duplain, Mark Eyking, Marcel Gagnon, Howard Hilstrom, Charles Hubbard, Larry McCormick, Dick Proctor, Bob Speller.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge and Jean-Denis Fréchette, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada: Mark Corey, Assistant Deputy Minister, Market and Industry Services Branch; Suzanne Vinet, Director General, International Trade Policy Directorate, Market and Industry Services Branch; Dr. Gordon Dorrell, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Research branch; Bob Wettlaufer, Acting Director General, Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration; Gordon Richardson, Director, Americas Europe and Middle East, International Markets Bureau; Gilles Lavoie, Director General, Operations and Agricultural Industry Services Directorate, Market and Industry Services Branch.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Consideration of the Plans and Priorities.

Mark Corey, Dr. Gordon Dorrell and Bob Wettlaufer made an opening statement and, with other witnesses, answered questions.

At 9:15 a.m., Charles Hubbard, the Chair, took the Chair.

At 10:43 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:47 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

At 10:55 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
