Tuesday, February 19, 2002

The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs, Northern Development and Natural Resources met in a televised session at 11:23 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Raymond Bonin, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Raymond Bonin, David Chatters, John Finlay, John Godfrey, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Richard Marceau, Pat Martin.

Acting Member(s) present: Deborah Grey for Gerald Keddy.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages and Mary Hurley, researchers

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced consideration of an overview of the historical evolution of the Indian Act.

The Chair informed the Committee of the unavoidable absence of the witnesses.

At 11:24 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
