Meeting No. 21

Wednesday, November 17, 1999

The Standing Committee on Transport met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Stan Keyes, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Roy Bailey, Murray Calder, Bill Casey, Joe Comuzzi, Bev Desjarlais, Stan Dromisky, Michel Guimond, Charles Hubbard, Stan Keyes, Val Meredith, Lou Sekora.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher; June Dewetering, Researchers.

Witnesses: As Individual: Herschel Hardin, Consultant, Herschel Hardin Associates; Daryl Atamanyk, Educationist; Prof. W.T. Stanbury, Commerce & Business Administration, University of British Columbia; Tom Ross, Commerce and Business Administration, University of British Columbia.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the future of the airline industry in Canada.

Herschel Hardin made an opening statement and answered questions.

Daryl Atamanyk made an opening statement and answered questions.

Both Professors W.T. Stanbury and Tom Ross made opening statements and answered questions.

It was agreed that the copies of the documents provided by Air Canada which were tabled in the Quebec Superior Court for the AIRCO and Air Canada court case will be available for consultation, in their original version, in the Committee Clerk's office.

At 5:48 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
