The Standing Committee of Public Accounts met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Vice-Chair, John Richardson, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Hec Clouthier, John Finlay, Paul Forseth, Marlene Jennings, Steve Mahoney, Philip Mayfield, George Proud, , Benoît Sauvageau, Alex Shepherd, Elsie Wayne.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis; Brian O'Neal, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: L. Denis Desautels, Auditor General of Canada; Michael McLaughlin, Deputy Auditor General, Corporate Services.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)e), consideration the Annual Performance Report of the office of the Auditor General of Canada for the period ending March 31, 1999.
L. Denis Desautels made an opening statement and with Michael McLaughlin, answered questions.
At 5:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
