Meeting No. 42

Tuesday, June 13, 2000

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Pat O'Brien, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Robert Bertrand, Gordon Earle, Jim Hart, René Laurin, Judi Longfield, Pat O'Brien, John O'Reilly, Janko Peric, David Pratt, George Proud, Elsie Wayne, Bob Wood.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Corinne McDonald, Research Officers.

Witness: From the Sikorsky Canada Inc.: Joseph Haddock, Director, International Business Canada.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on a Review of the Social and Economic Challenges Facing Members of the Canadian Forces.

The witness made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 4:35 o'clock p.m., the Committee proceeded to a discussion on National Missile Defence.

At 4:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
