The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:11 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Antoine Dubé, Walt Lastewka, Gurbax Malhi, Dan McTeague, Ian Murray, Charlie Penson and Susan Whelan.

Other Member present: Janko Peric.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw and Geoffrey Kieley, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the University of British Columbia: Thomas W. Ross, Professor. From Stikeman Elliott: Lawson A.W. Hunter, Associate. From Blake, Cassels and Graydon: Warren M. Grover, Lawyer. From Lang Michener: James Musgrove, Lawyer.

Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), a Review of the Competition Act.

Thomas W. Ross and Lawson A.W. Hunter made statements and answered questions.

At 10:27 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10: 32 a.m., the sitting resumed, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Warren M. Grover and James Musgrove made statements and answered questions.

At 11: 41 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
