The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Pierre Brien, John Cannis, Marlene Jennings, Jim Jones, Gurbax Malhi, Ian Murray, Charlie Penson, Jerry Pickard, Werner Schmidt and Susan Whelan.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Louise Charron Fortin, Director General, Trade Commissioner Service, Planning and Policy; John Curtis, Senior Policy Advisor and Coordinator, Trade and Economic Analysis Division. From the Department of Industry: Rocco Delvecchio, Executive Director, Investment Partnerships Canada.

Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), a study concerning Productivity, Innovation and Competitiveness.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 11:06 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
