MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 43

Thursday, October 5, 2000

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 9:02 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block.

Members of the Committee present: Paul Bonwick, Sarmite Bulte, Pierre de Savoye, Deborah Grey, Wendy Lill, Rick Limoges, Clifford Lincoln, Dennis Mills, Mark Muise, Andy Scott, Caroline St-Hilaire, Andrew Telegdi and Bryon Wilfert.

Acting Member present: Jim Pankiw for Cliff Breitkreuz.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Terry Thomas, Research Officer.

Pursuant to Standing Orders 106(1) and (2), election of the Chair and Vice-Chairs.

The Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of a Chair.

On motion of Rick Limoges, seconded by Pierre de Savoye, it was agreed, - That Clifford Lincoln do take the Chair of this Committee as Chairman.

Accordingly, Clifford Lincoln was duly elected Chair of the Committee and took the Chair.

On motion of Rick Limoges, seconded by Andy Scott, it was agreed, - That Dennis Mills be elected Vice-Chair of the Committee.

On motion of Jim Pankiw, seconded by Pierre de Savoye, it was agreed, - That Deborah Grey be elected Vice-Chair of the Committee.

It was agreed—That Committee Members advise the clerk of agenda items they would like to discuss at the next meeting on future businesses.

At 9:27 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
