The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 9:08 a.m., this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, John Harvard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Hélène Alarie, Rick Borotsik, Garry Breitkreuz, Murray Calder, Odina Desrochers, John Harvard, Gar Knutson, Larry McCormick, Joe McGuire, Paul Steckle, Rose-Marie Ur.
Acting Members present: Deepak Obhrai for Howard Hilstrom; Charlie Penson for Gerry Ritz.
Other Members present: Jake Hoeppner, Rick Casson.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch - Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Researcher; Jean-Denis Fréchette, Economist.
Witnesses: From the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada: Suzanne Vinet, Acting Director General, International Trade Policy Directorate, Market and Industry Services Branch. From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Jean E. Saint-Jacques, Director, Trade Remedies Division.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to hold an Information Session on the Canadian Dairy Exports under the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Jean E. Saint-Jacques and Suzanne Vinet made opening statements and answered questions.
At 10:41 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
