Meeting No. 5
Tuesday, NOVEMBER 18, 1997
The Sub-Committee on Private Members’ Business, of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, met "In Camera" at 11:12 o’clock a.m., this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Yvon Charbonneau (presiding).
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Yvon Charbonneau, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Norman Doyle, Ken Epp and Carolyn Parrish.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jamie Robertson, Research Officer.
In accordance with its order of reference from the Committee dated Tuesday, October 28, 1997, the Sub-Committee resumed consideration of the First Report on Private Members' Business tabled during the 35th Parliament (2nd Session).
The Sub-Committee considered a letter from Senators Carstairs and Kinsella regarding the procedures applicable to Private Members' Bills originating in the Senate and it was agreed to refer the matter to the House Leaders.
At 12:15 o’clock p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
