MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS
Meeting No. 3

Monday, October 20, 1997


The Sub-Committee on Private Members’ Business, of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, met at 3:40 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Yvon Charbonneau (presiding).

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Yvon Charbonneau, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Norman Doyle, Ken Epp and Carolyn Parrish.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jamie Robertson, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Svend Robinson, Leon Benoit, Michelle Dockrill and Gary Lunn for Reed Elley.

Pursuant to the order of reference, from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, adopted on Monday, September 29, 1997, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Tuesday, September 30, 1997.

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:16 o’clock p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:18 o'clock p.m. the meeting continued "In Camera".

At 5:25 o’clock p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
