Wednesday, February 3, 1999
The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 3:38 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Lynn Myers, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Deborah Grey, André Harvey, Joe Jordan, Lynn Myers.
Acting Member present: Richard Marceau for Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral.
Other Member present: Denis Paradis.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Maurice Vellacott, Jim Karygiannis, Gilles Bernier for Peter MacKay, Nick Discepola, Bernard Bigras, Chuck Cadman, Garry Breitkreuz, Inky Mark, Louise Hardy, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Roger Gallaway, Pierrette Venne.
Pursuant to the order of reference from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, adopted on Monday, September 29, 1997, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Tuesday, December 3, 1998.
The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.
At 5:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:32 p.m., the sitting resumed "in camera".
At 5:49 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
