MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 18

Wednesday, October 7, 1998

The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 3:37 p.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, Lynn Myers, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Deborah Grey, André Harvey, Joe Jordan, Lynn Myers.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Research Officer.

Pursuant to the order of reference, from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, adopted on Monday, September 29, 1997, the Sub-Committee proceeded to study the responses to a survey on votable items.

The Research Officer made a briefing and answered questions.

It was agreed, - that a round-table meeting be held on the subject of votable items.

It was agreed, - that a copy of the document entitled "Summary of responses to the survey on Private Members' Business: votable items" be distributed to all Members of the House of Commons.

At 4:01 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
