Wednesday, September 30, 1998
The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 3:58 o'clock p.m. this day, in Room 362 East Block, the Acting Chair, Bill Blaikie, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Deborah Grey, André Harvey, Joe Jordan and Lynn Myers.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Lorne Nystrom, Bill Gilmour for Garry Breitkreuz, Jean Dubé, Nelson Riis, Tom Wappel and Réal Ménard.
Pursuant to the order of reference, from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, adopted on Monday, September 29, 1997, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Thursday, June 4, 1998.
The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.
At 4:05 o'clock p.m., Lynn Myers took the Chair.
At 4:17 o'clock p.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 4:29 o'clock p.m., the meeting resumed.
At 4:55 o'clock p.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 4:57 o'clock p.m., the meeting resumed "in camera".
At 5:27o'clock p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
