Meeting No. 60

Thursday, April 22, 1999

The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Vice-chair, Lynn Myers, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: John Finlay, Mac Harb, Philip Mayfield, Lynn Myers, Gilles-A. Perron, Beth Phinney.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis and Brian O'Neal, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: L. Denis Desautels, Auditor General of Canada; Maria Barrados, Assistant Auditor General; Sheila Fraser, Deputy Auditor General; Ray Dubois, Assistant Auditor General.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee proceeded to consider the priorities of the April 1999 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.

The Auditor General made an opening statement and, with the witnesses, answered questions.

At 4:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
