Meeting No. 50
Tuesday, February 2, 1999
The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 3:42 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Mark Assad, John Finlay, Paul Forseth, Ivan Grose, Steve Mahoney, Lynn Myers, Gilles-A. Perron, Beth Phinney and John Williams.
Acting Members present: Ian Murray for Mac Harb and Walt Lastewka for Jerry Pickard.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis and Brian O'Neal, Research Officers.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee proceeded to examine Chapter 16 (Management of the Social Insurance Number) of the September 1998 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.
The Committee proceeded to examine a draft report.
It was agreed, - That the draft report, as amended, be adopted as the Twentieth Report of the Committee.
It was agreed, - That the Chair be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes to the Report as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.
It was agreed, - That the Chair of the Committee be authorized to present the Report to the House.
At 4:30 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee proceeded to examine Chapter 10 ( Canadian Human Rights Commission, Human Rights Tribunal Panel) of the September 1998 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.
The Committee proceeded to examine a draft report.
At 5:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
