The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 4:05 p.m., this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, John Harvard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Hélène Alarie, Rick Borotsik, Murray Calder, Denis Coderre, John Harvard, Jake Hoeppner, Joe McGuire, Dick Proctor and Rose-Marie Ur.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Researcher.
Witnesses: From Simplot Canada Limited: John Malinowski, Manager, Sales and Marketing. From the Quebec Fertilizer Manufacturers Association: Donald Côté, Agrologist, Administrative Manager. From the Canadian Fertilizer Institute: Roger L. Larson, President; Mike Chorlton, Chair and CEO; Don Smith, Vice-Chairman and General Manager, Terra International (Canada) Inc.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to hold an Information Session provided by the Canadian Fertilizer Institute, on the "Food for our Future" Campaign.
Roger L. Larson and Don Smith, made opening statements and with other witnesses, answered questions.
At 5:27 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
