On Monday, June 15, 2026, the Standing Committee on Science and Research adopted the following motion:
That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3), the Standing Committee on Science and Research undertake a study of the findings and recommendations put forward by the External Advisory Group concerning the creation and dissemination of scientific information in French, in order to examine the measures necessary for their implementation and to formulate its own recommendations to support the French-language scientific research ecosystem in Canada;
That the Committee devote at least four meetings to this study;
That the Committee report its findings and recommendations to the House; and
That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the government table a comprehensive response to the report.
