Financial Statements

On occasion, the Minister of Finance may make an economic statement to the House, often referred to as a “mini-budget”.

Unlike a budget speech, these statements are delivered without formal notice and are not followed by a budget debate. Notices of ways and means motions may be tabled on these occasions.

Mini-budgets may be delivered during other proceedings. In the past, financial statements have been made:
