The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, on November 28, November 30, December 5, and December 7, 2017, the Committee hear from witnesses in relation to its study of the creation of an independent commissioner responsible for leaders’ debates.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted on Thursday, November 9, 2017, the witnesses scheduled to appear on Thursday, November 23, 2017, in relation to the study of the creation of an independent commissioner responsible for leaders’ debates, be invited to appear at a later date.

At 11:54 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:05 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(vi) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, November 2, 2017, the Committee commenced its study of the creation of an independent commissioner responsible for leaders’ debates.

The Minister made a statement and, with Allen Sutherland, answered questions.

At 1:06 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
