Pursuant to Standing Order 106(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the request by four members of the Committee to undertake a study of the unprecedented breaches of confidentiality that have taken place recently in respect of the Supreme Court appointment process.

Motion

Michael Cooper moved, — That the Committee sit additional hours to study the leak of information surrounding the Supreme Court of Canada's selection process, particularly as it pertains to the leak of information surrounding the Chief Justice of the Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench; and that the Committee report its findings to the House no later than Friday, May 31, 2019.

At 1:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:43 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee resumed consideration of the motion of Michael Cooper, — That the Committee sit additional hours to study the leak of information surrounding the Supreme Court of Canada's selection process, particularly as it pertains to the leak of information surrounding the Chief Justice of the Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench; and that the Committee report its findings to the House no later than Friday, May 31, 2019.
