Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, October 29, 2018, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-84, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (bestiality and animal fighting).

Lianna McDonald and Monique St. Germain, by videoconference from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Teena Stoddart and Frank Annau made statements and answered questions.

At 9:37 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:42 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Shawn Eccles, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, and Jordan Andrew Reichert made statements and answered questions.

At 10:28 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:32 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

It was agreed, — That, with regard to Bill C-417, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (disclosure of information by jurors), the Committee invite the sponsor of the Bill, Michael Cooper, as well as Mark Farrant, to appear during the first hour of its meeting of Tuesday, February 26, 2019; and that the second hour of the meeting be dedicated to the clause-by-clause study of the Bill, given that the deadline for submitting amendments to the Clerk is Thursday, February 21, 2019.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding any decision made prior, the first hearing on criminalizing the non-disclosure of HIV be pushed back by one meeting, and begin on Thursday, February 28, 2019, instead.

At 10:41 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
