Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Friday, December 9, 2016, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-25, An Act to amend the Canada Business Corporations Act, the Canada Cooperatives Act, the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, and the Competition Act.

Matthew Fortier, Tanya van Biesen, Aaron A. Dhir, by videoconference from New York, New York, Stephen Erlichman, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, and Catherine McCall, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made statements and answered questions.

At 9:47 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:50 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 10:19 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:23 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Committee Business
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Minister and department officials be invited to appear on Thursday, February 23, 2017, for the Committee's study of the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2016-17.

At 10:49 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
