Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of the subject matter of Supplementary Estimates (C), 2017-18: Votes 1c, 5c and 10c under Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of the subject matter of Interim Estimates 2018-19: Votes 1, 5 and 10 under Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

The Minister made a statement and, with Catherine Blewett, Jeffery Hutchinson and Pablo Sobrino, answered questions.

At 9:45 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:49 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of Atlantic Canada commercial vessel length and licensing policies, the same officials who appeared before the Committee on Thursday, February 15, 2018, be invited again for the first hour of the meeting of Thursday, March 29, 2018.

It was agreed, — That the second hour of the meeting of March 29, 2018, be dedicated to the consideration of the draft report on the Oceans Act’s marine protected areas.

It was agreed, — That , during the first hour of the meeting of Tuesday, April 17, 2018, the Committee proceed to give drafting instructions and recommendations to the analysts for the draft report on Atlantic Canada commercial vessel length and licensing policies.

It was agreed, — That Tuesday, April 17, 2018, be the deadline for submitting drafting instructions and recommendations for the analysts for the draft report on Atlantic Canada commercial vessel length and licensing policies.

It was agreed, — That the second hour of the meeting of Tuesday, April 17, 2018, be dedicated to the consideration of the draft report on the Oceans Act’s marine protected areas.

At 10:05 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
