Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, the Committee commenced its study of the Atlantic Canada commercial vessel length and licensing policies.

Jacqueline Perry made a statement and, with Verna Docherty, Marc LeCouffe, Patrick Vincent and Mark Waddell, answered questions.

At 10:13 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:17 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee allow for a reference document submitted to the Clerk of the Committee by Dr. Larry McKinney to be fully considered and included as part of the Committee’s study on Marine Protected Areas and appear on the Committee’s website as a related document, and that evidence submitted to the Clerk of the Committee by the Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association also be fully considered and included.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard be invited to appear in relation to the Supplementary Estimates (C), 2017-18 and the Interim Estimates 2018-19.

At 10:46 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
