Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, the committee commenced its study of the extreme flooding in Pakistan.

Marie-Louise Hannan made a statement and, with Christopher Gibbins and Tara Carney, answered questions.

At 5:25 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

At 5:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:12 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Khalil Shariff, Rahul Singh, Dr. Aslam Daud and Usama Khan made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 11,500.00, for the study of the extreme flooding in Pakistan, be adopted.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 5,225.00, for the consideration of Bill S-223, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (trafficking in human organs), be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed supplementary budget in the amount of $ 9,900.00, for the study of the current situation in Haiti, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the draft news release, in relation to the appearance of Evgenia Kara-Murza et Irwin Cotler, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed calendar for the month of November 2022, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the current situation in Haiti, members submit their list of suggested witnesses, by order of priority, to the clerk of the committee no later than Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. ET.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the consideration of Bill S-211, An Act to enact the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act and to amend the Customs Tariff, members submit their list of suggested witnesses, by order of priority, to the clerk of the committee no later than Tuesday, November 1st, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. ET.

At 7:25 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
