Pursuant to the motion adopted by the House of Commons on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, the committee commenced consideration of the request by four members of the committee to discuss the testimony logistics of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Chief of Staff Katie Telford and to address the production of communications.

Motion

Pierre Poilievre moved, — That the Prime Minister appear for no less than three hours alone as a witness, on his own panel, and that Katie Telford appear for no less than two hours, alone as a witness, on her own panel, provided that the two appear separately.

At 7:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:16 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee resumed consideration of the motion of Pierre Poilievre, — That the Prime Minister appear for no less than three hours alone as a witness, on his own panel, and that Katie Telford appear for no less than two hours, alone as a witness, on her own panel, provided that the two appear separately.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Michael Cooper, James Cumming, Rhéal Éloi Fortin, Peter Julian, Marty Morantz, Pierre Poilievre — 6;

NAYS: Julie Dzerowicz, Peter Fragiskatos, Sean Fraser, Michael V. McLeod, Francesco Sorbara — 5.

At 7:31 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
