Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the pre-budget consultations 2020.

Motion

Michael Cooper moved, — That the committee invite the Minister of Finance, Bill Morneau, to appear before the committee for a two-hour televised meeting regarding pre-budget consultations and that he appear no later than Thursday, February 6, 2020.

Peter Fragiskatos moved, — That the debate be now adjourned.

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived.

The debate on the motion continued.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

Jana Ray, Tim Reuss, Trevin Stratton, Ken Goodridge, by videoconference from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bruce MacDonald, Jeff Wright and Alan Shepard made statements and, with Huw Williams and Aaron Henry, answered questions.

At 5:04 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:15 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 6:44 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
