Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2017-18: Vote 1b under Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, Votes 1b, 5b, 15b and 20b under Department of Transport, Vote 1b under Marine Atlantic Inc., Votes 1b and 5b under Office of Infrastructure of Canada, Vote 1b under Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority, referred to the Committee on Thursday, October 26, 2017.

The Chair called Vote 1b under Canadian Air Transport Security Authority.

André Lapointe and Paul Griffin made statements and, with Lori MacDonald, Mike Saunders and Andie Andreou, answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Robert Aubin moved, — That the Committee invite the Minister of Transport and François Collins, Director, National Operations and Civil Aviation, Transport Canada, to appear before the Committee regarding the decision by Transport Canada to transfer responsibility for assessing pilot proficiency to airlines.

The question was put on the motion and it was negatived, by a show of hands: YEAS: 4; NAYS: 5.
