Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a briefing on the Transportation of Flammable Liquids by Rail.

Kathleen Fox made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 11:55 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:01 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Kevin Brosseau made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 12:33 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:36 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the detailed request for a travel budget for the Committee’s travel to St. John’s, Newfoundland, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Québec City, Québec, Trois-Rivières, Québec and Montréal, Québec be adopted and presented to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

It was agreed, — That all members of the Committee taking part in the travel to St. John’s, Newfoundland, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Québec City, Québec, Trois-Rivières, Québec and Montréal, Québec use their travel points for all flights in order to reduce travel costs.

It was agreed, — That the meeting of next Tuesday, February 26, 2019, be entirely on the consideration of a draft report on the study of assessing the impact of aircraft noise in the vicinity of major Canadian airports.

It was agreed, — That the Deputy Ministers and representatives from Transport Canada and Infrastructure Canada, as well as certain Crown Corporations and Agencies, be invited to appear on Thursday, February 28, 2019, on the Supplementary Estimates (B), 2018-19 and the Interim Estimates 2019-20.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Transport and the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities be invited to appear before the Committee as soon as possible.

At 1:04 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
